My GS equivalent in the military is 03. I am married with kids. Our house payment is $1284. Our BAH in theory would be $3312. This would cover us 100%. Live within your means and take full advantage of these bennies!

Great video just one question pertaining to my specific circumstance so my wife has been stationed in San Diego and is receiving bah. The money their giving her is good but I also make pretty good money and was looking for an apartment a little over the bah budget with a two bedroom set up for a home office for myself. Would the military have a problem with this? Majority of the rent will be paid with her bah but I will cover the rest because I do make my own money and would like a nicer apartment in the city. The allowance she is receiving is around $2,600 and the apartments I’m looking at is around $3,400, just for context.

Being from the midwest it’s very possible to spin off the road and total your car in the dead of winter and depending how damaged your vehicle or how isolated you are you may freeze to death. So it is common for even non preppers to keep a blanket or so in your trunk. I would recommend a wool blanket as wool will keep you warm even when damp. I also keep a change of socks. A good beanie. And it’s never bad to have some extra layers i.e. jacket,thermals,gloves, wet weather jacket/windbreaker. Minnesota can be extreme at times.

I keep led 2aa maglites in my 24 hour bags cause they are reliable and not good enough for me to pull them out and use them as an EDC item. I think they are 70 to 100 lumens.
